camouflaged exit

camouflaged exit

This exit door was once a great headache to the staff at the level iv care home. Residents were often stepping through it when they weren’t supposed to be. Local artists came and painted this bookshelf and fireplace on and beside it, and there has been no more problem with residents wandering through this door. Is that not genius?

Grandma found another exit to try after we moved her there on Tuesday. They should do them all up the same as above.

She was in a state the first day. Wednesday, better. Friday, would like to go home, didn't much want to stay there. I worried that we'd done the wrong thing, moving her so abruptly and finally. Sunday, she was settling in better when Emil and I went to visit.

  • Such a unique way to camouflage the exit! Wow! I do hope your Grandmother settles down. It must be so worrisome for her, and you.

  • Aww my poor great- grandma. Will have to go visit as soon as I have a day off. Are there different visitation rules at the new place?

  • Nope; 24 hours a day, family members are welcome. She is doing MUCH better. What a relief. When I was there yesterday (Sunday) she was using a walker and talking normally again.
